In compliance with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, all non-automatic fire fighting equipment must be identified with a suitable sign. These signs must be designed and positioned according to BS EN ISO 7010:2020 to ensure optimal clarity and understanding.
Material Options Explained:
- Rigid Plastic: Lightweight, gloss white PVC with high impact strength. Ideal for both internal and external safety signs. Can be easily drilled for wall mounting.
- Self-Adhesive Vinyl: High gloss, flexible PVC vinyl with a self-adhesive backing. Best suited for application on smooth, dry, and clean surfaces. Primarily used for internal signs.
- Photoluminescent Rigid Plastic: 1.2mm Rigid PVC with glow-in-the-dark pigmentation. Offers superior visibility in low light conditions, exceeding PSPA Class C grade as measured to DIN 67510.
- Photoluminescent Self Adhesive: Flexible PVC with glow-in-the-dark properties for high visibility even in blackout conditions.
- Rigid Plastic with Self Adhesive Back: Durable Rigid PVC with a high tack self-adhesive backing, eliminating the need for drilling or additional adhesive fixings. Also known as Quick-Fix signs.
- Brass/Aluminium Effect: 2-Ply 1.5mm rigid PVC laminate with a brushed aluminium or brass effect surface. Heat-resistant and robust for challenging environments.
- Stand Off: 5mm Acrylic with anodised aluminium stand-offs, providing a modern, elevated appearance and ensuring durability.
