Copper tube butt connectors join two lengths of the same size cable end to end, for repairs and extensions on power and earth cables. Each end has a bell mouth for easy cable entry, and the joint is crimped with a tool suited to tube terminals.
Krimpterm makes them in copper with a bright electro tin plating. They are available in 18 sizes, given by cable cross section from 1.5mm to 630mm. Sizes up to 95mm are sold in packs of 100, and 120mm and above are sold singly. They are uninsulated, so cover the finished joint with heat shrink tubing or tape sized for the cable.
